Biography
Oliver Blake (born Oliver Prickett) was an American character actor who appeared in numerous uncredited film roles and some television parts from the 1940s to the 1960s. He was born on 4 April 1905 in Centralia, Illinois, and died on 12 February 1992 in Los Angeles.
He performed on stage under his real name, particularly as a fixture and teacher at the Pasadena Community Playhouse, where his brother was managing director. Blake used the stage name Oliver Blake for his screen work, which included small parts in films such as Casablanca (1942), Out of the Past (1947) and House of Wax (1953). He is best remembered for playing Geoduck in five Ma and Pa Kettle films between 1951 and 1955, and appeared as Zeb Allen in an episode of I Love Lucy (1951). He was the brother-in-law of actress Maudie Prickett.
