Biography
Oliver T. Marsh was an American cinematographer. He was born on 30 January 1892 in Kansas City, Missouri, and died on 5 May 1941 in Hollywood, California. Marsh worked primarily for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, contributing to more than eighty films at the studio from the silent era through the early sound period.
He served as director of photography on David Copperfield (1935), A Tale of Two Cities (1935), The Great Ziegfeld (1936), San Francisco (1936), The Women (1939) and Another Thin Man (1939). With Allen Davey, he received an Academy Honorary Award for the colour cinematography of Sweethearts (1938) and was nominated for Best Cinematography (Colour) for Bitter Sweet (1940).
Marsh was the brother of actresses Mae Marsh and Marguerite Marsh, and editor Frances Marsh. He was the father of jazz saxophonist Warne Marsh.
