Biography

Paul Machliss is an Australian film and television editor. Born in Melbourne in 1972, he trained at Brighton Secondary College and began his career in Australian television before moving to the UK, where he worked on series including Spaced, Black Books and The IT Crowd.

He is best known for his long collaboration with director Edgar Wright, editing Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010), The World's End (2013), Baby Driver (2017) — for which he shared a BAFTA Award for Best Editing — Last Night in Soho (2021) and The Running Man (2025). Other credits include The Gentlemen (2020), The Flash (2023) and The Kid Who Would Be King (2019). In 2023 he received an honorary doctorate of arts from Solent University.
