Biography
Paul Michael Glaser (born Paul Manfred Glaser) is an American actor and director. He was born on 25 March 1943 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and studied at Tulane University and Boston University, where he earned an MFA in acting and directing.
Glaser rose to prominence playing Detective Dave Starsky in the television series Starsky & Hutch (1975–1979), also directing several episodes of the show. He made his feature film acting debut as Perchik in Fiddler on the Roof (1971) and later appeared in films including Something's Gotta Give (2003) and the 2004 Starsky & Hutch remake. As a director, he helmed episodes of Miami Vice (1984–1985), for which he received a Primetime Emmy nomination, as well as the films The Running Man (1987) and The Cutting Edge (1992).
