Biography
Pauline Quirke is an English actress. She began her career as a child performer and appeared as Dixon in the 2004 BBC series North & South.
Quirke is best known for playing Sharon Theodopolopodous in the BBC sitcom Birds of a Feather (1989–1998, 2014–2017). Her other credits include Broadchurch (2013–2015) as Susan Wright, Emmerdale (2010–2012) as Hazel Rhodes, The Sculptress (1996) and Distant Voices, Still Lives (1988). She received an MBE in 2022 for services to young people, the entertainment industry and charity.
In 2025 her husband announced that she had retired from professional work following a dementia diagnosis in 2021.
