Biography
Perry Lafferty was an American television director, producer and network executive. Born in Davenport, Iowa, he began in radio in New York before serving in the US Army Air Forces during the Second World War. After the war he moved into television, directing anthology dramas such as Studio One and Robert Montgomery Presents, as well as episodes of The Twilight Zone in 1963 and Rawhide in 1961.
Lafferty later became a CBS vice president of programmes on the West Coast, where he was involved in bringing series including All in the Family, MAS*H, Maude and The Mary Tyler Moore Show to air. He subsequently held a senior role at NBC, producing the 1985 television film An Early Frost. He died in Century City, California, in 2005.
