Biography

Peter Honess is a British film editor with more than thirty credits dating from 1973. He was educated at Queen's College, Taunton, and began as an apprentice editor at the UK branch of MGM, where his father worked. He moved to the United States in 1971 and received his first editing credit on the 1974 film It's Alive!. He spent fifteen years as an assistant editor before establishing himself as an editor.

Honess received the BAFTA Award for Best Editing for his work on L.A. Confidential (1997). His other credits include Rob Roy (1995), The Fast and the Furious (2001), Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002), Troy (2004), Æon Flux (2005), Poseidon (2006), The Golden Compass (2007) and Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010).
