Biography

Ray Wise is an American actor born on 20 August 1947 in Akron, Ohio. He graduated from Garfield High School and attended Kent State University. His career began in the late 1960s with stage work and early television appearances.

Wise is best known for portraying Leland Palmer in the television series Twin Peaks (1990–1991, 2017) and its prequel film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (1992). Other film roles include Leon Nash in RoboCop (1987), Don Hollenbeck in Good Night, and Good Luck (2005), and parts in X-Men: First Class (2011) and Jeepers Creepers 2 (2003). Television credits encompass the Devil in Reaper (2007–2009) and recurring appearances in The Young and the Restless.

He has received Daytime Emmy Awards for his guest performances on The Young and the Restless and has been married to producer Kass McClaskey since 1978.
