Biography
Rebecca Addelman is a Canadian writer, director and comedian. She graduated with a B.A. in literature from the University of Toronto in 2004 and studied comedy writing and performance at Humber College in 2005. After working as a copy-editor and performing stand-up comedy, she moved to Los Angeles in 2008.
She has written for the television series New Girl (2011), Love (2016), Ghosted (2017), Dead to Me (2019) and Chad Powers (2025). Addelman created and served as showrunner on Guilty Party (2021), for which she also directed two episodes. She directed one episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine (2013) in 2019 and wrote and directed the feature film Paper Year (2018).
