Biography
Lamar Woods is a writer, actor and producer. He grew up in Atlanta and graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in religious studies in 2009. After moving to Los Angeles, he performed sketch and improv comedy, including classes at the Upright Citizens Brigade, and co-created the Northside Comedy website.
His television writing credits include staff writer and story editor roles on New Girl (2016–2018), executive story editor on Single Parents (2018–2019), and a writing credit plus co-producer role on Brooklyn Nine-Nine (2021). He also wrote on Survivor's Remorse and Grand Crew. As an actor, he has appeared as Blaze in New Girl, Demetrius in Superstore, Dwayne in Single Parents, and provided voices in Big City Greens.
Woods co-wrote, produced and starred in the independent comedy feature It's a Party (2018). He has sold pilots to studios including FX, Disney and Universal Television, and performs improv with the comedy group The Big Team in Los Angeles.
