Biography
Reece Dinsdale (born 6 August 1959) is an English actor and director. He was born in Normanton, West Yorkshire, and trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, graduating in 1980.
His screen credits include Threads (1984), A Private Function (1984), Hamlet (1996) as Guildenstern, Life on Mars (2006) as Simon Lamb, Spooks (2003) as Major Sam Curtis, Coronation Street (2008–2010) as Joe McIntyre, and Emmerdale (2020–2021) as Paul Ashdale. He has also appeared in The Storyteller (1988) as Fearnot, I.D. (1995), and Robin of Sherwood (1984).
Dinsdale has a substantial stage career, with appearances at the National Theatre, Royal Shakespeare Company and Royal Exchange Manchester. He was the first Associate Artist at the West Yorkshire Playhouse, where he appeared in the inaugural production of Wild Oats in 1990. He has directed episodes of the BBC series Moving On.
