Biography
Renée April is a Canadian costume designer. She is from Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec, and maintains a workshop in Montreal. She began her career in the late 1970s and has worked on more than 50 film and television productions.
Her credits include Prisoners (2013), Arrival (2016), Blade Runner 2049 (2017) and Sicario (2015), several of them directed by Denis Villeneuve. She has also designed for Canadian productions such as The Red Violin (1998) and Grey Owl (1999), as well as for theatre and Cirque du Soleil.
April won a Genie Award for Best Costume Design for Grey Owl and a Gemini Award for Million Dollar Babies. She was appointed a Member of the Order of Canada in 2019.
