Biography
Renee Ehrlich Kalfus is a costume designer whose credits include more than 30 feature films. She graduated with a BFA in fine arts from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University and began her career styling commercials before moving into film.
She first worked in features with director Lasse Hallström on Once Around (1991) and collaborated with him on five films, including Chocolat (2000), for which she received BAFTA and Costume Designers Guild award nominations. Later credits include What's Eating Gilbert Grape (1993), Hidden Figures (2016), for which she won the Costume Designers Guild Award for excellence in period film costume design, A Simple Favor (2018) and The Housemaid (2025). She has also designed for television series such as The Michael J. Fox Show.
