Biography
Rhys Williams (31 December 1897 – 28 May 1969) was a Welsh character actor in films and television. He began his career on the British stage with Shakespearean companies before making his film debut in How Green Was My Valley (1941) as Dai Bando, having originally been hired as a dialogue coach for the production.
He appeared in numerous films including Mrs. Miniver (1942), Random Harvest (1942) as Sam, The Bells of St. Mary's (1945), Julius Caesar (1953), Johnny Guitar (1954) and The Sons of Katie Elder (1965). His television credits included episodes of Mission: Impossible (1966) and The Andy Griffith Show (1960).
