Biography

Rick Bota is a cinematographer and director. He began his career as a cinematographer, working on the HBO series Tales from the Crypt (1991–1995) for which he received a CableACE Award for Best Cinematography in 1994 and an ASC nomination. His other cinematography credits include Barb Wire (1996), House on Haunted Hill (1999) and episodes of The West Wing (2000).

Bota has directed episodes of numerous television series, including Supernatural (2005), The Vampire Diaries (2009), Haven (2010–2015), Unforgettable (2011–2014), Beauty and the Beast (2012–2013) and Between (2016). He also directed the straight-to-video Hellraiser films Hellseeker (2002), Deader (2005) and Hellworld (2005).
