Biography
David Nutter is an American television and film director and producer. Born in 1960, he graduated from the University of Miami. He began directing episodes of Superboy and The X-Files in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Nutter is known for directing pilot episodes of many series, including Space: Above and Beyond, Roswell, Smallville, Supernatural, The Mentalist, Arrow and The Flash. He directed "Join the Club" for The Sopranos (2006) and "Replacements" for the miniseries Band of Brothers (2001), as well as episodes of The West Wing. He received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series for his work on Game of Thrones in 2015, and shared in the Emmy for Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries for Band of Brothers.
