Biography
Rick Rosenthal is an American film and television director. Born Richard L. Rosenthal Jr. on 15 June 1949 in New York City, he studied acting and directing at the Beverly Hills Playhouse and attended the AFI Conservatory. He is also credited as Richard L. Rosenthal and, on one occasion, as Alan Smithee.
Rosenthal began his feature directing career with Halloween II (1981) and went on to direct Bad Boys (1983) and Halloween: Resurrection (2002). He has directed numerous television episodes, including two for the series Buffy the Vampire Slayer (2002), as well as work on Smallville, Veronica Mars, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Haven. He served as co-executive producer on the series Life Goes On (1989–1991).
Rosenthal is married to actress Nancy Stephens.
