Biography
Rick Tuber (1953–2023) was an American film and television editor. He attended California State University, Northridge and began his career as an assistant editor on the series Cagney & Lacey in 1985. Early film credits include assistant editor on Arthur 2: On the Rocks (1988), The Karate Kid Part III (1989) and Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit (1993).
Tuber edited episodes of ER (1994–1996), for which he shared a Primetime Emmy Award and an American Cinema Editors Eddie Award in 1995. Other television credits include Bones (2005–2017), The Unit (2006–2009), Salem (2014–2017) and The Bastard Executioner (2015). He also edited Maniac Cop 3: Badge of Silence (1992). Tuber authored the nonfiction book Shanghai Cuts (2014) about his work on the series Flatland (2002) and three novels featuring a film editor protagonist.
