Biography
Jesús Salvador Treviño is an American television director of Mexican descent. Born on 26 March 1946 in El Paso, Texas, he began his career in the late 1960s as a student activist documenting the Chicano civil rights movement. He directed several PBS documentaries on Latino and Chicano history and issues, including Yo Soy Chicano (1972).
Treviño directed the feature film Raíces de Sangre (1978) and the television drama Seguín (1982). From the 1990s he directed numerous episodes of prime-time series, including NYPD Blue (1993), ER (1994), Babylon 5 (1994), Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993), Star Trek: Voyager (1995), Prison Break (2005), Criminal Minds (2005) and Bones (2005). He is a member of the Directors Guild of America and has served on its National Board and as co-founder of its Latino Committee.
