Biography
Robert Cartwright is a British production designer and art director. Born on 3 August 1930 in Ludgershall, Wiltshire, he worked extensively in film and television art departments from the 1950s onwards.
His credits include set decoration on 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) and The Bounty (1984), art direction on The Elephant Man (1980), History of the World: Part I (1981) and Lifeforce (1985), and production design on National Lampoon's European Vacation (1985). He also served as production designer on the television series The Famous Five (1978–1979) and other TV projects including A Fine Romance (1989).
Cartwright received Oscar nominations for his work on several films.
