Biography
Robert Evans (born Robert J. Shapera) was an American film producer and studio executive. Born in New York City on 29 June 1930, he died on 26 October 2019.
He began his career as an actor before moving into producing. In 1967 he became head of production at Paramount Pictures, where he oversaw a run of commercially and critically successful films that included Rosemary's Baby (1968), Love Story (1970), The Godfather (1972) and Chinatown (1974). He later produced films independently, among them Marathon Man (1976) and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003).
Evans wrote the memoir The Kid Stays in the Picture (1994), which was adapted into a 2002 documentary.
