Biography

Ron Patane is an American film editor. Born in 1977 in suburban Connecticut, he studied philosophy at Vassar College and moved to New York City. He was a member of the music video directing collective Wormseye and has worked as a freelance editor since 2003 on documentaries, commercials, television and short films.

Patane has collaborated repeatedly with director Derek Cianfrance. He co-edited Blue Valentine (2010) with Jim Helton, followed by The Place Beyond the Pines (2013) and The Light Between Oceans (2016). Other feature credits include A Most Violent Year (2014), Triple Frontier (2019) and Till (2022). He has received Independent Spirit Award and Eddie Award nominations.
