Biography
Ross Katz is an American film producer, screenwriter and director. Born in Philadelphia on 19 May 1971, he began in the industry as a grip on Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs (1992) after dropping out of film school. He later worked at the independent production company Good Machine in New York, producing his first features there.
Katz co-produced Todd Field's In the Bedroom (2001) and Sofia Coppola's Lost in Translation (2003), both nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture. He also produced Coppola's Marie Antoinette (2006). In 2009 he made his directorial debut with the HBO film Taking Chance, which he co-wrote; the project earned him Directors Guild of America and Writers Guild of America awards. Subsequent directorial credits include Adult Beginners (2014) and The Choice (2016).
