Biography
Rufus, born Jacques Narcy on 19 December 1942 in Riom, Puy-de-Dôme, France, is a French actor. He adopted his stage name after abandoning medical studies and worked as a theatre manager before joining the Café de la Gare ensemble in 1967.
He has appeared in numerous films and television productions, often in supporting roles. Rufus is known for his performances in Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s Delicatessen (1991) as Robert Kube, The City of Lost Children (1995) as the Peeler, and Amélie (2001) as Raphaël Poulain. He played the lead role of Mordechai in Train of Life (1998) and appeared in A Very Long Engagement (2004). He received a César Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for Amélie.
