Biography
Ruth Carney is a television, film and theatre director. She studied at the University of Sheffield and completed an MA in Theatre Directing at the Russian Theatre Academy in Moscow and Middlesex University. She has directed in the West End and on Broadway.
Carney entered television via the BBC Directors Scheme and has also taken part in the High-End TV Stepping Up Scheme and the Directors UK Inspire Scheme. Her credits include episodes of Shetland (2013), Call the Midwife (2012), Brassic (2019), Death in Paradise (2011), Father Brown (2013) and Emmerdale (1972). Her first feature, Amazing Grace, has completed post-production.
