Biography
Scott Chambliss is an American production designer for film and television. Born on 30 May 1963, he studied theatre arts at California State University, East Bay, and earned an MFA at Carnegie Mellon University. He began his career designing sets and costumes for stage productions in New York before moving into film and television.
Chambliss has worked extensively with director J.J. Abrams, serving as production designer on Mission: Impossible III (2006), Star Trek (2009) and Star Trek Into Darkness (2013). His other credits include Salt (2010), Cowboys & Aliens (2011), Tomorrowland (2015), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) and Voyagers (2021). He has also designed for series such as Alias and Citadel.
He won a Primetime Emmy Award for art direction on Alias and has received multiple Art Directors Guild nominations for his feature work.
