Biography

Shantanu Moitra is an Indian composer, pianist and musician. He was born on 22 January 1968 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

He studied economics at Delhi University and began his career composing jingles before moving into film music. Moitra is known for his work on 3 Idiots (2009), PK (2014) and 12th Fail (2023), as well as Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006), Pink (2016), Wazir (2016), Sardar Udham (2021) and October (2018). He has also composed background scores and received the National Film Award for Best Music Direction (Background Score) in 2014 for Na Bangaaru Talli.
