Biography

Sonia Grande is a Spanish costume designer. Born in Oviedo, Asturias, in 1964, she began her career in theatre, working with directors including Miguel Narros, before moving into film.

She has designed costumes for films including The Others (2001), directed by Alejandro Amenábar, and multiple projects with Woody Allen such as Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008) and Midnight in Paris (2011). Other credits include work with Pedro Almodóvar on Talk to Her (2002) and Broken Embraces (2009). Grande has received two Goya Awards for Best Costume Design, for The Girl of Your Dreams (1999) and While at War (2019), as well as the Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts.
