Biography
Stan Zimmerman is an American television writer, producer and director. He grew up in Southfield, Michigan, and studied drama at New York University, where he met his long-time writing partner James Berg. After moving to Los Angeles, the pair began writing for sitcoms.
Zimmerman and Berg wrote episodes for the first season of The Golden Girls (1985), including the Writers Guild of America-nominated “Rose’s Mother”. They later contributed to Roseanne (1988), notably the 1994 episode “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”, which earned a second WGA nomination. Zimmerman also wrote for season five of Gilmore Girls (2000) and co-wrote the screenplay for the 1996 film A Very Brady Sequel. He created and executive-produced the Lifetime series Rita Rocks.
