Biography
Stephen Wyatt is a British writer for theatre, radio and television. Born in Beckenham, Kent, and raised in Ealing, West London, he was educated at Latymer Upper School and Clare College, Cambridge, where he completed a PhD on the Victorian extravaganza. He began working as a freelance playwright in 1975 and served as resident writer with the London Bubble Theatre in 1982–83.
Wyatt’s television credits include the original screenplay Claws (1987) and episodes of Casualty and The House of Eliott. He is best known for two serials for Doctor Who (1963): Paradise Towers (1987) and The Greatest Show in the Galaxy (1988), both starring Sylvester McCoy as the Seventh Doctor; he also novelised both stories for Target Books. His radio work has earned two Tinniswood Awards for best original script.
