Biography
Steven W. Carabatsos (2 October 1938 – 24 October 2025) was an American screenwriter. He grew up in Manhattan and attended Hunter College before studying at Cornell Law School, where he wrote a spec script for the medical drama Ben Casey.
Carabatsos served as story editor on the first season of Star Trek (1966) between the tenures of John D. F. Black and D. C. Fontana, working as script consultant on eleven episodes and contributing to several teleplays, including co-writing "Court Martial". He also wrote for The Fugitive (1963), Ben Casey, Peyton Place, The Big Valley and Kojak. His film screenplays include El Condor (1970), Tentacles (1977), The Last Flight of Noah's Ark (1980) and Hot Pursuit (1987).
