Biography
Ted Field is an American film producer. Born Frederick Woodruff Field on 1 June 1953 in Chicago, Illinois, he is an heir to the Marshall Field department store fortune.
In 1982 he founded Interscope Communications to develop and produce films. His first major success came as producer of the 1984 comedy Revenge of the Nerds. He later co-founded the record label Interscope Records with Jimmy Iovine in 1989.
Field has served as producer or executive producer on numerous films, including Jumanji (1995), The Last Samurai (2003) and entries in the Riddick series.
