Biography
Terence Bayler (24 January 1930 – 2 August 2016) was a New Zealand actor. Born in Whanganui, he made his professional debut in the New Zealand film Broken Barrier (1952) before training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and building a career primarily in Britain.
He appeared in Macbeth (1971) as Macduff, Life of Brian (1979) as Gregory, Time Bandits (1981) as Lucien, Brazil (1985) as the T.V. Commercial Presenter, The Remains of the Day (1993) as Trimmer, and Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001) as the Bloody Baron. Bayler also had television roles including in Doctor Who, and worked with members of the Monty Python team, notably Eric Idle.
