Biography
Tom Berenger is an American actor. Born Thomas Michael Moore on 31 May 1949 in Chicago, Illinois, he studied journalism at the University of Missouri before training as an actor in New York.
He received an Academy Award nomination and a Golden Globe Award for his performance as Staff Sergeant Bob Barnes in Platoon (1986). Berenger is also known for playing Jake Taylor in the Major League films (1989, 1994) and Thomas Beckett in the Sniper series. Other credits include Inception (2010) as Peter Browning, Training Day (2001) as Stan Gursky, and the television miniseries Hatfields & McCoys (2012), for which he won a Primetime Emmy Award.
