Biography
Tom London (born Leonard Thomas Clapham) was an American character actor who appeared in hundreds of films, primarily Westerns. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, he began his screen career in 1915 under his birth name and later adopted the stage name Tom London around 1925.
He is credited with roles in numerous productions, including James Canfield in Our Hospitality (1923). London appeared in uncredited parts in films such as All Quiet on the Western Front (1930), High Noon (1952) and The Ox-Bow Incident (1943). He also worked in television during the 1950s and 1960s, with appearances in series including Perry Mason and Batman (1943 serial).
One of the most prolific performers of his era, London was noted for his work as a trick rider and roper in B-Westerns.
