Biography
Tony Aitken (born 20 June 1946) is an English actor. He attended Belmont Abbey School in Hereford from 1959 to 1964 and trained as a drama and art teacher at St Mary's University College, London, from 1964 to 1967.
Over a career spanning more than four decades, he has appeared in television series including Upstairs, Downstairs (1971) as Mulligan, Porridge (1974) as the Chaplain, Blackadder (1983) as a minstrel and mad beggar, Agatha Christie's Poirot (1989) as Tommy Pinner, Keeping Up Appearances (1990) as the TV repairman, and Open All Hours (1976) as Norman. Film roles include Jabberwocky (1977) as a flagellant and The Remains of the Day (1993) as the postmaster. He also runs a broadcast audio studio producing and voicing radio and television commercials.
