Biography
Vibeke Windeløv is a Danish film producer born on 22 December 1950 in Frederiksberg. She began working in film production in the mid-1970s as a production manager and later produced films for directors including Bille August, Jørgen Leth and Susanne Bier. In 1992 she joined Zentropa, where she remained until 2005.
She is best known for producing several films directed by Lars von Trier, including Breaking the Waves (1996), The Idiots (1998), Dancer in the Dark (2000), Dogville (2003), Manderlay (2005) and The Boss of It All (2006). She has also served as executive producer on projects such as The Five Obstructions (2003).
Windeløv later co-founded production companies with Stinna Lassen. She has held positions on the board of the European Film Academy and served on juries at festivals including Venice, Montreal and Sundance. She received a special Bodil award in 2001 and was appointed Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.
