Biography
Walter Frentz was a German cinematographer. He was born on 21 August 1907 in Heilbronn and died on 6 July 2004 in Überlingen.
Frentz began working in film in the early 1930s. Through Albert Speer he met Leni Riefenstahl and served as a cinematographer on several of her productions, including Der Sieg des Glaubens (1933), Triumph of the Will (1935) and the two-part Olympia (1938). He also directed and shot other short films in this period.
From 1938 he served as a cameraman with the Luftwaffe, filming events involving Adolf Hitler and producing material for newsreels until the end of the Second World War. After the war he continued occasional work in film and photography.
