Biography
William Melling is a British actor born on 30 November 1994 in London, England. He began appearing in small television and film roles as a child, including a part in the sketch series Smack the Pony (2002) and the role of the Boy Next Door in William and Mary (2004).
He is best known for portraying the Gryffindor student Nigel (sometimes credited as Nigel Wolpert or Nigel 2nd Year) in five Harry Potter films: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005), Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007), Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (2010) and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (2011). He also appeared as Small Boy #1 in the drama An Education (2009) and as Rawdy in Vanity Fair (2004). Later credits include television roles in Fried (2014–2015), Midsomer Murders (2016) and Frankie Drake Mysteries (2017).
Melling is the son of actor Julian Firth and the brother of actress Isabella Melling.
