Biography

William Morgan Sheppard (1932–2019) was a British actor. He trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, graduating in 1958, and spent twelve years as an associate artist with the Royal Shakespeare Company. He appeared on Broadway in Marat/Sade (1966) and Sherlock Holmes (1975).

Sheppard had supporting roles in films including The Elephant Man (1980), Wild at Heart (1990) as Mr. Reindeer, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991), Gettysburg (1993), The Prestige (2006), Transformers (2007) and Star Trek (2009). On television he appeared in Max Headroom (1987–1988), multiple Star Trek series, Doctor Who (2005) and Dexter (2006). He also worked extensively as a voice actor in animation and video games.

He was the father of actor Mark Sheppard.
