Biography
William Perlberg was an American film producer. Born Wolf Perelberg in Łódź, Poland, he immigrated to the United States with his family in 1905. He worked initially as a fur trader and later as a talent agent and assistant to Harry Cohn before entering film production in the mid-1930s.
Perlberg produced numerous films for major studios, including The Song of Bernadette (1943), Miracle on 34th Street (1947), The Country Girl (1954), Teacher's Pet (1958) and The Tin Star (1957). He frequently collaborated with writer-director George Seaton, and they established Perlberg-Seaton Productions. He received Academy Award nominations for best picture for The Song of Bernadette and two other films.
In 1928 he married singer Bobbe Brox of the Brox Sisters; they had one son.
