Biography
William Wiard (1927–1987) was an American film and television director. He began his career in 1955 as a sound editor on the series Dragnet before moving into directing in the mid-1960s.
Wiard directed more than 150 television episodes, including six in the first season of MASH (1972), as well as episodes of Get Smart (1965), The Rockford Files (1974), The Streets of San Francisco (1972), Cannon (1971) and Scarecrow and Mrs. King (1983). His sole theatrical feature was the western Tom Horn* (1980). He also directed several made-for-television films in the 1970s and 1980s.
He was married to Georgiana Judith Sherman, daughter of director George Sherman, and they had three children.
