Biography
Alex Hall is an American editor and director working in film and television. He began his editing career in 1995 with the feature Girlstown and has since contributed to numerous projects, including editing episodes of HBO's The Wire.
Hall edited nine episodes of the first season of True Detective (2014) and served as second unit director on several others. He also edited and directed episodes of Treme (2010–2013), directed episodes of Law & Order (from 2022), and has directed on series such as The Deuce, Swagger and Law & Order: Organized Crime. His feature editing credits include The Messenger (2009), The Ledge (2011), The Tale (2018) and The Dinner (2017). He has maintained long-term collaborations with producer David Simon on multiple series.
