Biography
Ami Canaan Mann is a British-born American film and television director and writer. Born in London in 1969, she is the daughter of director Michael Mann. She studied in the production programme at the USC School of Cinema/Television.
Mann began her career writing for television, including an episode of NYPD Blue (2000). She directed the episode 'I Can't' of Friday Night Lights (2010), which received a Television Academy Honors Award. Her feature films include Morning (2001), Texas Killing Fields (2011), which screened in competition at the Venice Film Festival, Jackie & Ryan (2014), and Audrey's Children (2024). She has also directed episodes of series such as House of Cards, Sneaky Pete and Looking for Alaska.
