Biography
Anna Mary Scott Robbins is a Scottish costume designer based in London. She graduated with a BA (Hons) in Performance Costume from Edinburgh College of Art in 2005, having previously read law at the University of Edinburgh. She began working in costume departments across Scotland, England and Northern Ireland before moving into design roles.
She joined the Downton Abbey production as costume designer from series five (2014–2015) onwards, designing the fifth and sixth series as well as the three feature films, including Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale (2025). Her other film credits include Sunshine on Leith (2013), Wild Rose (2018), The Father (2020) and The Last Letter from Your Lover (2021).
Robbins has received two Primetime Emmy nominations for her work on Downton Abbey, a BIFA nomination for Wild Rose, and nominations for a Critics’ Choice Award and Costume Designers Guild Award for the Downton Abbey films; she won the Hollywood Film Award for Costume Designer of the Year in 2020. She also works in fashion and textiles, including as Director of Design and Development for Fortuny.
