Biography
Anthony Havelock-Allan (1904–2003) was a British film producer and screenwriter. Born in Darlington, County Durham, he worked as a casting director before producing quota quickies and feature films from the mid-1930s.
In 1942 he co-founded the production company Cineguild with David Lean, Ronald Neame and Noël Coward. He served as associate producer on In Which We Serve (1942) and as producer or co-producer on This Happy Breed (1944), Blithe Spirit (1945) and Brief Encounter (1945), also contributing to the screenplays of several of these films. Later credits include executive producer and co-screenwriter on Great Expectations (1946), and producer on Romeo and Juliet (1968) and Ryan's Daughter (1970). He received three Academy Award nominations.
