Biography
Anthony O'Donnell is a Welsh actor. He began his career in the mid-1970s with roles in television plays and series, including appearances in Play for Today and The Sweeney.
In 1982 he received the London Critics' Circle Theatre Award for Most Promising Newcomer for his work in the Stratford Season. He has appeared in films including Secrets & Lies (1996), Vera Drake (2004), Match Point (2005), Scoop (2006), Skyfall (2012) and Dream Horse (2020), and in television series such as Stella, The Crown (as Mayor of Merthyr Tydfil) and Bodies (2023).
O'Donnell played Leo Abse in the 2018 series A Very English Scandal.
