Biography
Antony Gibbs (17 October 1925 – 26 February 2016) was an English film editor. He began his career in the 1950s as an assistant editor and became established during the British New Wave, working with directors including Tony Richardson on films such as A Taste of Honey (1961) and Tom Jones (1963).
Gibbs relocated to California around 1970 and collaborated extensively with Norman Jewison on Fiddler on the Roof (1971), Jesus Christ Superstar (1973), Rollerball (1975) and others. He edited A Bridge Too Far (1977), Dune (1984) and Ronin (1998, as Tony Gibbs). He received four BAFTA nominations for Best Editing and worked on several television projects, retiring in 2001.
