Biography
Ari Handel is a Swiss-born American film producer and screenwriter. He has collaborated extensively with director Darren Aronofsky, co-writing the screenplays for The Fountain (2006) and Noah (2014), and producing or executive producing The Wrestler (2008), Black Swan (2010), mother! (2017), Jackie (2016) and The Whale (2022). He served as a producer on Caught Stealing (2025).
Handel was born in Zürich, Switzerland, and grew up in Newton, Massachusetts. He studied at Harvard University and holds a PhD in neurobiology from New York University. Prior to his film career he interned at the PBS science series Nova and worked in science communication.
