Biography
Arthur Coburn is an American film editor. He began his career in the mid-1970s as an assistant editor on films including One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975) and Apocalypse Now (1979), before becoming a lead editor on features such as Beverly Hills Cop (1984), The Mask (1994), A Simple Plan (1998), Spider-Man (2002), Monster (2003) and The Cooler (2003). His last credited feature as editor was Crossing Over (2009).
Coburn grew up in New Jersey. He attended Dartmouth College and Harvard Law School, served as a first lieutenant in the US Infantry, and practised law briefly before entering the film industry via King Screen Productions in Seattle, where he directed commercials and documentaries and wrote scripts. He later moved to Hollywood and has edited more than two dozen feature films.
